You could maybe save some money on those fighters as well you might disagree, I haven't been in your shoes. I would trade in the MSR, pick up an MSR CCU to hold onto until data-running gameplay is in, and put the leftover money toward the Taurus/Corsair. I don't personally see data running and smuggling to be so different from each other that I need to have both. That is, unless you're totally in love with it (completely understandable), or REALLY curious about specifically data-running. The Taurus will undoubtedly be a great choice for smuggling, to the point where I think you might be able to sacrifice the MSR without really missing out on anything. I'm basically going to be using mine the same way you are it'll be both my mischief machine and my home on the unexplored frontier. Keep in mind, it will also be able to carry vehicles up to the size of an Ursa.
IMO, for a jack-of-all-trades ship, it really doesn't get much better than the Corsair, especially since the vast majority of its capability is at the pilot's fingertips. (Feel free to disregard if you're already satisfied, I just have a lot of fun thinking about stuff like this):
